Bollywood fans hail star turns of Shah Rukh Khan and Diljit Dosanjh at Met Gala
The 2025 Met Gala saw a record representation from South Asia with as many as a dozen Indians walking the red carpet, including superstars Shah Rukh Khan and Priyanka Chopra, and musical icon Diljit Dosanjh and actor Kiara Advani.
Around the world, South Asian fans tuned in to watch an exciting moment unfold at the Met Gala — the arrivals of Shah Rukh Khan, a Bollywood star so popular he is referred to as King Khan, and Diljit Dosanjh, a record-breaking artist and actor who goes by Diljit. It was the first appearance for both at what is widely considered fashion’s most iconic red carpet.
Speaking about making history at the Met, Shah Rukh Khan said, “I dont know about history, but I am extremely nervous and excited. Sabyasachi has convinced me to come here. I have not done too many red carpets. I’m very shy. For me, it’s the first time. For me, the most exciting thing is that I have little kids who are very excited for the Met.
