“Kanwar Yatra Is Sacred, Attempts to Malign It Will Fail”: Strong Statement by Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami

Following Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has also taken a firm stance against attempts to tarnish the image of the Kanwar Yatra. He clearly stated that due to the alertness of the administration and swift actions, no unpleasant or troubling incidents have occurred so far. CM Dhami emphasized that the Kanwar Yatra is an extremely sacred and religious pilgrimage with deep historical and cultural significance, and any conspiracy to defame it will not be allowed to succeed.

Initial Disturbances Handled Promptly by Authorities

The Chief Minister mentioned that in the early phase of the Yatra, some individuals tried to disrupt it, but the administration responded quickly and brought the situation under control. He added that authorities are keeping a close watch on such elements and are ensuring that the Yatra continues peacefully and in an orderly manner.

CM Dhami highlighted that the Kanwar Yatra is an important part of Uttarakhand’s cultural and religious heritage. He explained that the Yatra symbolizes devotion and reverence toward Lord Shiva, where millions of devotees carry Ganga water every year to offer on the Shivling. He stressed that no one will be allowed to malign this sacred tradition.

Administration Fully Prepared for Security

To ensure the safety of the Yatra, the administration has implemented extensive and strict security arrangements. Drone surveillance, CCTV monitoring, and deployment of a large police force have been carried out to enable immediate action against any suspicious activity. The Chief Minister informed that as of July 23, the Yatra has been proceeding in a completely peaceful and well-organized manner.

CM’s Appeal to Devotees

CM Dhami reiterated the administration’s commitment to upholding the dignity of the Yatra. He also appealed to devotees to participate in the pilgrimage with peace, discipline, and devotion. His statement serves as a clear message to those attempting to tarnish the image of this religious event.
