Traffic Arrangements for Independence Day: 3,000 Traffic Police Personnel Deployed in Delhi

New Delhi: On the occasion of Independence Day, strict measures have been put in place in the national capital to ensure smooth traffic flow and heightened security during the celebrations.

Around 3,000 traffic police personnel will be deployed on city roads to manage traffic, especially around the Red Fort and nearby areas where the main event will take place.

According to Delhi Police, several traffic restrictions and diversions will be implemented in view of the event. Entry of heavy vehicles will be completely prohibited in areas such as Kashmiri Gate, Daryaganj, ITO, Rajghat, S.P. Mukherjee Marg, Sabzi Mandi, and localities adjacent to the Red Fort.

Only essential service and authorized vehicles will be allowed in these zones. In addition, for security reasons, some roads will be temporarily closed during the event, and vehicles will be diverted to alternative routes.
