Delhi CM Rekha Gupta Wades Through Knee-Deep Water in Yamuna Bazar, Assures Support to Flood-Affected Residents

New Delhi. The flood situation in Delhi, which had been a matter of speculation for the past few days, became evident on Tuesday. With knee-deep water entering the lanes of Yamuna Bazar, the hardships of the residents came to the forefront. Chief Minister Rekha Gupta visited the area, interacted with the people facing flood-like conditions, and assured them of full government support.
Sharing details on social media, CM Rekha Gupta informed that she visited Yamuna Bazar to review flood management and administrative preparations on the ground, as well as to listen to the grievances of local residents.
She added that while there was a possibility of the Yamuna’s water level touching 206 meters in the morning, the situation is now completely under control. Yamuna Bazar lies in the low-lying floodplain region, which is why water reached this area but did not advance further. She clarified that there is no flood-like situation across Delhi. The water level has already peaked and is now receding.
The CM further assured that the control room is constantly monitoring the situation. Relief and rescue teams are fully deployed to deal with any emergency.
“I want to assure the people of Delhi that the government stands firmly with you at every step. Your safety and well-being are our top priority, so there is no need to panic,” said CM Rekha Gupta.
