Bomb Threat Emails Sent to 5 Delhi Schools, Police Deployed on Spot — Third Such Incident This Week

National Desk: The wave of bomb threats in the national capital shows no sign of stopping. In the latest development on Thursday, five schools, including those in Prasad Nagar and Dwarka Sector-5, received threatening emails claiming bombs had been planted. As soon as the alerts came in, Delhi Police and fire department teams rushed to the locations and launched extensive search operations inside the school premises.
Third Bomb Threat Incident This Week
This marks the third such incident in the city within a week. On Wednesday, more than 50 schools across Delhi had received similar threat emails. Among them were SKV Hauz Rani School in Malviya Nagar and Andhra School in Karol Bagh.
32 Schools Received Threats on Monday
Earlier on Monday, between 7:30 a.m. and 12:25 p.m., as many as 32 schools were targeted with bomb threat emails, triggering chaos and panic. Delhi Fire Services received multiple emergency calls from these schools, most of which were located in the Dwarka area.
Schools affected included:
- Delhi Public School (DPS), Dwarka
- BGS International Public School
- Shri Venkateshwar School
- Global School
Many schools were evacuated immediately. DPS Dwarka even announced the closure of the institution and sent students home for safety.
Investigation Underway, Cyber Cell Activated
Police and intelligence agencies have taken the matter seriously and are working to trace the unknown individuals behind these emails. The Cyber Cell has also been roped in for the investigation. While police suspect that most of these threats may be hoaxes, they have emphasized that no potential risk can be ignored.
