Bhoomi Pujan Performed for 12th “Prabhu Shri Ram Leela Mahotsav 2025” Under the Banner of Kamdhenu Ramleela Samiti in East Delhi

New Delhi: The ceremonial Bhoomi Pujan (ground worship) for the 12th edition of the grand “Prabhu Shri Ram Leela Mahotsav-2025” was performed with traditional rituals in East Delhi. This Ramleela, recognized among the capital’s prominent festive celebrations, is being organized under the aegis of Samriddh Bharat Trust and the banner of Kamdhenu Ramleela Samiti.

Since 2014, Kamdhenu Ramleela Samiti has been hosting this spectacular event every year at the Rasvihār Ground, West Vinod Nagar, making it one of the most admired Ramleelas in the region.

Committee Chairman Dr. Kuldeep Bhandari, President Mohini Sharma, and General Secretary Ambadatt Purohit were present during the Bhoomi Pujan.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Bhandari said that this Ramleela consistently ranks among the finest in the area. Under the dynamic direction of Subhash Bhatt and the melodious music of Ankit Bhandari, the production beautifully blends the traditional Bhimtaali and Radheshyam styles from Uttarakhand with modern stage techniques. The Ramleela captivates audiences with its use of Brij and Bhojpuri verses, Awadhi dialogues, and seasoned theatre as well as cinema actors, making it a unique cultural presentation.

As part of the rituals, the stage and land were sanctified, and all participating artists were tied with sacred threads (Kalawa), symbolizing their commitment to religious discipline throughout the Ramleela. This includes abstinence from non-vegetarian food, alcohol, and indulgences, along with maintaining celibacy and sleeping on the ground until the event concludes. The ceremony involved chanting of mantras, havan, flag hoisting, and sanctification of the stage area.

Prominent figures attending the Bhoomi Pujan included Committee Chairman Dr. Kuldeep Bhandari, President Mohini Sharma, social workers M.S. Rawat, Mukesh Thakur, Hemant Papanai, Hayat Rana, Puran Devtalla, Ashu Nautiyal, Ganesh Pandey, Jitu Bisht, and Jagmohan Singh Bugana (who has been playing the dual role of Ravan and King Dashrath for years). Renowned theatre and film actress Pushpa Joshi, known for her dual role as Kaikeyi and Mandodari, was also present along with artists Ashwin Sharma, Nitin Gusain, Sangeeta Suyal, and the entire cast of the Ramleela.
