Disruptive Elements Using Farmers’ Name to Create Uproar Against Wave City

Ghaziabad: Miscreants are trying to stir unrest against Wave City, which is set to become the country’s largest hi-tech township, by exploiting farmers’ issues as a cover. These elements, who do not want to see the development of a well-planned city in the district, are using small farmers as pawns to further their own interests.

Thanks to its prime location—connected via the Eastern Peripheral Expressway and the Delhi–Meerut Expressway—Wave City has been attracting homebuyers who wish to move away from overcrowded areas. This rising popularity, however, does not sit well with certain disruptive groups. They frequently stage protests, sometimes outside Wave City and at times in front of Ghaziabad Development Authority (GDA) or other government offices, despite the fact that the project is being executed strictly under government and GDA guidelines.

The recurring demands for additional compensation hold little truth. In reality, farmers were already compensated as per legal provisions, ensuring smooth progress of the township. According to reports, Wave Group launched this integrated township project back in 2009–10 under the state’s Hi-Tech Township Policy, with a vision to build technology-enabled homes and vast green spaces. Although farmer protests did delay the project at certain stages, court rulings have since cleared the way, allowing the project to move forward. This has significantly increased demand among buyers.

Wave City’s growing appeal lies not just in its connectivity, but also in its eco-friendly environment, strong focus on safety, and affordability for middle-class families seeking modern amenities. Designed by globally renowned engineering firms, the project stands out as one of the most ambitious and unique urban developments—not just in Ghaziabad, but across India.
