IndiGo Night Flight from Delhi to Chandigarh Delayed for Hours Due to Missing Pilot; Himachal Deputy CM Mukesh Agnihotri Expresses Anger
National Desk: A major lapse was reported in IndiGo’s night flight from Delhi to Chandigarh. Although the aircraft was ready for departure, the flight was delayed for several hours because no pilot was available. This caused significant inconvenience to passengers.
The flight, scheduled to take off at 8:30 PM, was first rescheduled to 9:50 PM. Passengers were made to sit inside the aircraft for over two hours without any clear information. Even after the long wait, the ordeal continued. Just when passengers thought the flight would finally take off, they were informed that no pilot was available, and the departure was further delayed to 1:30 AM.
Meanwhile, Himachal Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri also expressed his displeasure on Instagram regarding the delay. He wrote that the IndiGo night flight was delayed for hours due to the absence of a pilot.
He stated:
“Delhi–Chandigarh IndiGo night flight delayed for hours because there was no pilot. Passengers suffered late at night. The 8:30 PM flight was first rescheduled to 9:50 PM. Passengers remained seated inside the aircraft for more than two hours. But due to the unavailability of a pilot, the flight has now been rescheduled to 1:30 AM. The aircraft is ready, but the shortage of pilots has stalled the flight.”
He further added that such mismanagement by IndiGo is unacceptable.
