Government Orders High-Level Probe into IndiGo Crisis, Sets Up 24×7 Control Room
National Desk: The Central Government has taken a strict stance after massive flight cancellations by IndiGo Airlines recently, which caused severe inconvenience to passengers. The Ministry of Civil Aviation (MoCA) has not only ordered a high-level investigation but also implemented several immediate corrective measures to provide quick relief to affected passengers.
Aim of the Investigation: Identify Root Cause & Fix Accountability
Considering the widespread inconvenience faced by passengers, the government has initiated a detailed probe into the service disruptions at IndiGo.
The primary goals of this investigation are:
- To identify the root causes behind the operational breakdown
- To fix accountability
- To suggest effective corrective measures to prevent such incidents in the future
One of the major reasons behind the crisis is believed to be the DGCA’s new Flight Duty Time Limit (FDTL) regulations. These rules have now been temporarily suspended, helping airlines restore schedules without compromising passenger safety.
24×7 Control Room Established
To ensure active monitoring and quick resolution, the Aviation Ministry has set up a 24×7 control room.
This control room will coordinate with airlines and oversee passenger care.
Control Room Numbers:
📞 011-24610843
📞 011-24693963
📞 096503-91859
The facility reflects the government’s commitment to ensuring passenger safety, care, and convenience.
Relief Measures for Affected Passengers
- Passengers whose flights were cancelled will receive full refunds automatically, without needing to request compensation.
- Those facing long delays will be provided hotel accommodation directly by the airline.
- Senior citizens and persons with disabilities will receive priority assistance, including lounge access.
- All affected passengers will be offered refreshments and essential services during the waiting period.
Operations Expected to Normalize Soon
The ministry has directed IndiGo to take all necessary steps to stabilize operations.
Officials expect flight schedules to become partially normal by tomorrow and fully restored within three days.
The Central Government has assured that passenger safety and convenience remain top priority throughout this period.
