UP Kabaddi League Season 2 Kicks Off: Noida Ninja Beat Kanpur Warriors in Opener
Noida witnessed an exciting start to Uttar Pradesh Kabaddi League Season 2 on Thursday, with Noida Ninja emerging victorious in the opening match against Kanpur Warriors. The match, held at Noida Indoor Stadium, saw Noida Ninja clinch a close 39–36 win.
Kanpur Warriors put up a strong fight, collecting a total of 36 points through raid points, tackle points and bonus points. However, Noida Ninja edged ahead with a well-balanced performance, finishing with 39 points to seal the match. The stadium buzzed with energy as supporters from both sides turned up in large numbers to cheer for their teams.
Noida Ninja owner Deepak Nagar congratulated the players on their winning start. The second match of the day was played between Mirzapur Kings and Lucknow Lions.
UPKL Founder and CEO Sambhav Jain said the league was originally scheduled to begin on December 24, but the fixtures were postponed by a day following Supreme Court directions related to pollution and guidelines issued by the Sports Directorate.
Season 2 of the Uttar Pradesh Kabaddi League features 12 teams, each playing 11 matches in a round-robin format. The tournament will include a total of 69 matches, along with one exhibition game. Several international-level players such as Vinay Tewatia, Arjun Deshwal, Mohammad Aman, Abhimanyu and R. P. Singh are taking part in the league, adding star power and competitiveness to the season.
