Strong Earthquake Tremors Felt Across Delhi-NCR and North India, People Rush Outdoors in Panic

National Desk: Strong earthquake tremors were felt across Delhi-NCR and several parts of North India late Friday night at around 9:42 PM, triggering panic among residents. People rushed out of their homes and offices as the ground shook noticeably.

The tremors were experienced in multiple regions, including Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, and parts of Uttar Pradesh such as Noida. According to initial reports, the earthquake originated near the Afghanistan–Tajikistan border and measured 5.9 on the Richter scale.

Impact Felt from Udhampur to Kashmir Valley
Areas like Udhampur, Poonch, and several parts of the Kashmir Valley also experienced the tremors. Although the shaking lasted only a few seconds, it was strong enough to alarm residents, prompting many to move to safer, open areas.

High-Rise Buildings Felt Stronger Shaking
In Delhi-NCR, people living in high-rise buildings reported more intense tremors. Offices and residential complexes were quickly evacuated, with many gathering in parks and open spaces as a precaution.

So far, there have been no reports of major damage or casualties. Authorities are closely monitoring the situation.
