A Tribute to Hindi Cinema: Dr. Shrikant Sharma’s Books Presented to Film Stars
During his visit to Mumbai, Dr. Shrikant Sharma gifted his recently released books, Hindi Cinema Aur Abhinetri and Hindi Cinema Puruskaar Aur Sakshatkaar, to a number of prominent Bollywood celebrities. Dr. Sharma, who is a prolific author, has written ten books on different topics.
During his time in Mumbai, he personally donated copies of his books to famous actresses Kunika Lal, Rajeshwari Sachdeva, Navneet Nishan, and Ansha Syed, as well as to respected actors Pankaj Berry, Naseer Khan, Daya Shankar Pandey, and Kuldeep Sareen. These encounters occurred on the production units of different films and TV serials, and once again reflect the strong bond between his work and industry.
His book Hindi Cinema Puruskaar Aur Sakshatkaar consists of exclusive interviews with more than 20 top artists from both the film and television industry. While that, Hindi Cinema Aur Abhinetri is a path-breaking work, documenting the journey of almost 260 actresses who have enriched Hindi cinema between 1913 and 2025. Importantly, this is the first and sole book written in Hindi that fully covers the history of actresses in Hindi cinema over an astonishing period of more than 110 years. Dr. Sharma’s work is an important addition to film literature.
