Comedian Kunal Kamra Shares Screenshot of Bigg Boss Casting Offer

Comedian Kunal Kamra recently shared that he was offered to be a part of the next season of the reality show Bigg Boss, hosted by Salman Khan. Posting a screenshot of a message from a casting director on Instagram Stories, Kamra pointed out the surprise offer. The casting agent said Kamra’s name had been discussed and referred to Bigg Boss as a “mad platform” where he could display his personality in front of a huge crowd. Kamra responded with a brush-off and sarcasm, stating, “I would much rather check into a mental hospital,” to music from Salman Khan’s movie Radhe.

No one knows if Kamra was invited to be part of Bigg Boss OTT or its TV version, Bigg Boss 19. This is revealed in the midst of controversy and outrage surrounding the comedian. While performing a stand-up show in Mumbai, Kamra commented on Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, and an FIR was filed for defamation and public mischief. Subsequently, Kamra reportedly received about 500 death threats, and he had to move out of Mumbai and seek refuge in Tamil Nadu. He later moved to the Madras High Court and received interim protection from arrest by the Mumbai Police.

The drama unfolding demonstrates the dilemma confronting forthright public personalities such as Kamra, particularly where comedy merges with political comment.
