Cool Winds Bring Pleasant Weather to Delhi-NCR; Air Quality in ‘Moderate’ Category
National Desk: Residents of Delhi woke up to pleasant weather on Monday morning, with cool winds bringing a noticeable change in conditions. The minimum temperature across the city was recorded a few degrees below normal levels.
According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the lowest minimum temperature was recorded at Lodhi Road at 16.6°C, which is 2.4 degrees below normal. Ayanagar followed with 16.7°C, also 2.2 degrees below normal. Meanwhile, Safdarjung—the city’s base weather station—recorded a minimum temperature of 17.7°C. Palam and Ridge stations reported 17.9°C and 17.8°C, respectively.
No rainfall was recorded at any of these five monitoring stations in the last 24 hours until 8:30 AM. The sky is expected to remain partly cloudy throughout the day, with the maximum temperature likely to reach around 31°C.
According to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), Delhi’s air quality remained in the ‘moderate’ category, with an average Air Quality Index (AQI) of 123.
As per CPCB standards:
- 0–50: Good
- 51–100: Satisfactory
- 101–200: Moderate
- 201–300: Poor
- 301–400: Very Poor
- 401–500: Severe
Overall, the day is expected to remain comfortable for residents, with relatively cleaner air and mild temperatures offering relief.
