Delhi Car Blast: High Alert Issued in Mumbai After Explosion in Delhi

National Desk: After the massive explosion in Delhi near the Red Fort, a high alert has now been issued in Mumbai. Security agencies across the country have entered alert mode. Security has been tightened in sensitive areas, railway stations, airports and crowded markets. In Mumbai, the police said that following the Delhi blast, precautionary measures have been intensified.

Reports state that on Sunday evening, a powerful explosion occurred in a car parked near Gate No. 1 of the Red Fort Metro Station in Delhi. Eight people have died in the blast, while 2 to 3 are said to be critically injured. Sources say the death toll could rise because the explosion was of high intensity.

The blast was so powerful that 5 to 6 nearby vehicles were shattered and street-lights along the road were also broken. The fire brigade received the call at 6:55 pm, after which several fire-tenders reached the spot and worked to bring the fire under control.
