Ghaziabad News: Wave City Protest Finally Ends, Residents Relieved

Ghaziabad – The long-running protest outside Wave City, which is set to become the country’s largest hi-tech city, has finally come to an end, bringing relief and smiles to the faces of local residents. The intervention of the court and the local administration played a key role in resolving the matter.

The protest had been hampering development work inside Wave City and causing continuous inconvenience to residents. Working men and women in particular were facing difficulties due to the ongoing demonstrations. When the protest was finally brought to an end recently, locals expressed their happiness. Many residents said they used to live in fear during the agitation, worried about possible untoward incidents, as miscreants often mix with protestors, creating an atmosphere of insecurity. Employees working in Wave City also breathed a sigh of relief, as their movement and daily work are no longer being disrupted.

It is noteworthy that on July 14, 2025, Additional Civil Judge Namitesh Gupta ordered the Kavi Nagar Station House Officer (SHO) to ensure compliance with a March 22, 2017 ruling. The order directed that no one should obstruct Wave City’s development works or assault employees entering or leaving the premises. However, the protestors continued to defy court orders and disrupt construction activities.

The court had given the Kavi Nagar SHO until July 31, 2025, to negotiate with the protestors and have the sit-in withdrawn. When the protest still did not end, police were eventually forced to remove the demonstrators from the site.
