Major Route Change on Delhi Metro’s Green Line: DMRC Introduces New Operational Pattern Between Delhi and Haryana

New Delhi: In a significant development aimed at streamlining passenger movement, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has announced a major operational restructuring on the Green Line, which connects parts of Delhi with Bahadurgarh in Haryana. The changes, effective Monday through Friday, will impact thousands of daily commuters and aim to improve clarity and efficiency during peak hours.

According to an official announcement shared on DMRC’s official X (formerly Twitter) handle, the Green Line will now operate in two dedicated loop sections on weekdays:

New Operational Loops:

  • Loop 1: Brigadier Hoshiyar Singh (Bahadurgarh, Haryana) to Kirti Nagar (Delhi)
  • Loop 2: Mundka (Delhi) to Inderlok (Delhi)

These looped services are being implemented from Monday to Friday, while weekend services (Saturday and Sunday) will continue unchanged as per the previous full-line operations.

Interchange at Ashok Park Main

To facilitate smooth transfers between the two loops, Ashok Park Main station will now serve as the primary interchange hub.
Passengers traveling:

  • from Brigadier Hoshiyar Singh to Inderlok, or
  • from Mundka to Kirti Nagar

will be required to change trains at Ashok Park Main.

About the Green Line

The Green Line stretches over 29 kilometers and connects 24 stations across Delhi and Haryana. The new route division is expected to ease congestion, especially during peak hours, and offer a more predictable travel pattern for daily commuters.

Key Benefits of the Change

  • Reduced congestion: Segregated routes will streamline passenger flow and reduce pressure on interchange stations.
  • Time-saving: Passengers are expected to experience shorter waiting times and faster connections.
  • Increased frequency: Trains will now run at intervals between 4 minutes 10 seconds to 8 minutes 20 seconds, enhancing service reliability.

This operational shift is particularly significant for the lakhs of passengers who rely on the Green Line daily to travel between Delhi and Haryana. DMRC has assured that the move is part of a broader initiative to improve service efficiency and passenger convenience across the network.

For detailed travel planning and real-time updates, commuters are encouraged to check the DMRC official app or website.
