Noida Police Commissioner Unveils Comprehensive Plan to Ensure Safe and Peaceful Kanwar Yatra
Strict DJ Guidelines, Medical Camps, Insulated Electric Poles, and 24×7 Monitoring in Place for Kanwar Yatra 2025
In preparation for the upcoming Kanwar Yatra 2025, the Noida Police Commissionerate has rolled out a detailed security and coordination plan to ensure the safety and convenience of devotees. Commissioner Laxmi Singh has directed all departments to work in coordination, leaving no scope for lapses during the religious pilgrimage.
Strict Safety Norms for Kanwar Yatra DJ Vehicles
As large processions are expected across Noida and adjoining areas, specific safety instructions have been issued regarding DJ sound systems mounted on vehicles used during the yatra.
A meeting was held with DJ operators, Kanwar group leaders, and religious committee members under the supervision of the three zonal DCPs. It was clearly communicated that:
- DJ vehicles must not exceed 10 feet in height and 12 feet in width
- Volume should be kept in check to avoid accidents and public disturbances
These norms are aimed at minimizing the risk of mishaps, especially those related to overhead electrical lines and road safety.
Route Repairs, Medical Assistance, and Infrastructure Support
Multiple government departments have been brought into coordination to ensure all Kanwar routes are safe, clean, and well-equipped. The Gautam Buddha Nagar Police has worked with departments like the Electricity Board, Jal Nigam, PWD, and Health Department to carry out:
- Timely repairs and maintenance of Kanwar routes
- 24×7 power supply, with backup generators on standby
- Medical camps at key points, including:
- 8 ambulances
- 16 doctors
- 16 pharmacists
- 16 ward boys
- 6 help desks
- Essential medicines and emergency support
Additionally, CCTV cameras are being installed along key routes and at Kanwar camps to monitor gatherings and ensure safety, especially during Shravan Shivratri fairs.
Special Focus on Electrical Safety: 600+ Poles Insulated
To prevent accidents due to electric shock during the yatra, the Electricity Department has insulated more than 600 electric poles and over 50 transformers along the Kanwar routes. Old and damaged poles are being repaired or replaced. This proactive step aims to eliminate any chance of electrocution, which has been a concern in previous years
24×7 Social Media Monitoring and Anti-Rumor Measures
The Noida Police has set up a dedicated team for round-the-clock monitoring of all social media platforms to identify and curb the spread of fake news, rumors, or any communal content. Anyone found posting communal or inflammatory comments will face strict legal action
High-Level Coordination Meetings Held
Commissioner Laxmi Singh chaired a high-level meeting with key officers, including:
- Rajeev Narayan Mishra (Additional Police Commissioner, Law & Order)
- DCP Yamuna Prasad (Noida Zone)
- DCP Shakti Mohan Awasthi (Central Noida Zone)
- DCP Saad Miya Khan (Greater Noida Zone)
- DCP Lakhan Singh Yadav (Traffic)
In this meeting, officers were instructed to maintain law and order, ensure communal harmony, and respond swiftly to any untoward incidents during the yatra. Coordination with temple committees was also discussed to facilitate smooth movement of devotees.
