Actor Prateik Babbar has officially changed his name to Prateik Smita Patil in tribute to his late mother, the legendary actress Smita Patil. This significant decision reflects his deep desire to honor her legacy while distancing himself from his father’s surname.

Speaking about the change, Prateik shared, “I’m just thinking about what makes me and my soul feel better, and what makes my heart smile, not thinking if it will negatively affect my career. I don’t care about the repercussions.”

He further emphasized his devotion to his mother’s legacy, stating, “I’m striving to be like my mother and not like my dad. It feels like a new chapter.”
