Rohit Shetty Reflects on Dilwale, Talks Bonds with SRK, Deepika & Ajay
Shah Rukh Khan and Rohit Shetty hit gold with Chennai Express, but their subsequent film Dilwale did not enjoy the same box office fortune, fueling rumors of a falling out between the two. Recently, Rohit Shetty put the rumors to rest in an interview with Komal Nahta on the Game Changers podcast. He categorically denied any rift with Shah Rukh, saying, “Nahi aisa kuch nahi,” and reiterated the respect they have for each other.
Rohit described how, after Dilwale, they started their own production house, deciding to produce films on their own. Although Dilwale did not do as well as anticipated in India, it was a huge foreign success. The movie was produced under Shah Rukh and Gauri Khan’s Red Chillies Entertainment.
Rohit also discussed his close industry relations, particularly with Ajay Devgn, whom he regards as an elder brother. He has also forged close bonds with actors such as Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone. He was impressed with Deepika’s professionalism, recalling how she wrapped up shooting for Singham Again during her fourth month of pregnancy.
At the same time, Shah Rukh Khan will feature in King with his daughter Suhana Khan. Siddharth Anand will direct the movie, which will also feature Abhishek Bachchan and Abhay Verma. Rohit continues to work on Singham Again, which is his latest installment of cop universe.
