Strict Surveillance by UP Police During Kanwar Yatra: Stern Warning Against Provocative Songs

UP News | As the holy month of Shravan approaches, preparations for the Kanwar Yatra are in full swing across Uttar Pradesh. In Meerut, police and district administration have stepped up vigilance to ensure peace, order, and safety during the pilgrimage. On Tuesday, a crucial meeting was held with around 200 DJ operators at the Police Lines auditorium in Meerut. The meeting was jointly chaired by ADM City Brijesh Kumar Singh and SP City Ayush Vikram Singh
Clear Warnings Issued to DJ Operators
Authorities gave strict instructions to all DJ operators stating that objectionable, provocative, or vulgar songs will be strictly prohibited during the Kanwar Yatra. Any violation will lead to strict legal action. Officials also laid out regulations regarding the height and width of DJ vehicles — the maximum height allowed is 12 feet and width should not exceed 14 feet. These measures are in place to avoid traffic obstructions, eliminate risks from overhead electric wires, and ensure the safety of pilgrims.
Volume Limit and Time Restrictions Enforced
DJ operators must strictly follow the prescribed sound decibel limits, and no DJ music will be allowed after 11 PM. Authorities emphasized that the Kanwar Yatra is a symbol of faith, discipline, and communal harmony, and the peaceful completion of the event with public cooperation is a top priority for the administration.
Border Checkpoints & On-the-Spot Action
ADM City Brijesh Kumar Singh also announced that checking campaigns will be conducted at district borders. Any DJ vehicles that do not comply with the set standards will be turned back immediately. No negligence will be tolerated under any circumstances.
This proactive approach by the UP Police and administration reflects their commitment to ensuring a safe and disciplined Kanwar Yatra in 2025.
