TRAFFIC ADVISORY: New Traffic Restrictions in Delhi from November 19 to 25 — Check Which Routes Will Remain Closed

National Desk: Special events will be held in Delhi from 19 to 25 November 2025 to mark the 350th Martyrdom Day of Shri Guru Teg Bahadur Sahib Ji. A large gathering of devotees is expected at the Red Fort, which may cause heavy crowding and traffic congestion in the surrounding areas. Considering this, the Delhi Traffic Police has issued an advisory, sharing details about road closures, diversions, and available parking options.

Road Closures and Diversions

According to the Delhi Traffic Police:

  • Netaji Subhash Marg and Nishad Raj Marg will remain completely closed during the event.
  • Buses and commercial vehicles coming from Delhi Gate/Chatta Rail Chowk will be diverted towards Ring Road from 4 PM to 11 PM.
  • Additional diversions may also be implemented at:
    • GPO Chowk
    • Shanti Van Chowk
    • Hanuman Mandir Crossing
    • T-Point Subhash Marg

The police have urged commuters to follow real-time updates and advisories to avoid delays.

Parking Arrangements

Adequate parking facilities will be available for people visiting the Red Fort and Chandni Chowk areas. Devotees may park their vehicles at:

  • Omax Mall
  • ASI Parking
  • Parade Ground
  • Church Mission Road
  • Dangal Maidan
  • Service Road near Shanti Van

Routes to Avoid

To avoid heavy traffic, commuters are advised to stay away from the following roads:

  • Ring Road (Rajghat to Chandgiram Akhara)
  • Netaji Subhash Marg
  • Nishad Raj Marg
  • SPM Marg
  • Lothian Road
  • Boulevard Road

The police have also requested the public to use public transport and metro services as much as possible to reduce congestion.
