Union Minister Chirag Paswan inaugurated 24th India International Seafood Show, Said, maintaining the quality of foods is most important

- Asia’s leading seafood trade fair will be held from September 25th to 28th in Hall 6 of Pragati Maidan, Bharat Mandapam.
New Delhi: The 24th India International Seafood Show (IISS-2025) began today at Pragati Maidan in New Delhi. Minister of Food Processing Industries of India, Chirag Paswan inaugurated Asia’s leading seafood trade fair in Hall No. 6 of Bharat Mandapam. Speaking on the occasion, the Union Minister emphasized that processing or adding value to seafood should not compromise its quality. Focusing on safety and quality, whether seafood or other food items, is crucial. He emphasized that Indian agriculture and seafood must reach international markets.
Earlier, Mr Pawan Kumar, President of the Seafood Exporters Association of India (SEAI), the organizer of this mega show, and Dr. K.N. Raghavan, Secretary General, welcomed Union Minister Chirag Paswan, He inaugurated IISS-2025 by cutting the ribbon and lighting the lamp. Mr Pawan Kumar stated that 260 stalls have been set up at the Seafood Trade Fair Show, which runs until September 28th, and includes technical sessions. He explained that a large number of industry professionals, businesspeople, and experts are attending the seafood show. During the show, seafood business participants will have the opportunity to meet, share experiences, and receive guidance from leading figures in the industry. The SEAI President stated, “We are confident that this event will be instrumental in our efforts to diversify our markets and improve our position in existing markets.”
During IISS-2025, there will be detailed discussions on the opportunities, challenges, and solutions in the aquaculture and seafood export industry in India. Several key issues, such as skill development and sustainability for seafood producers, will be discussed. Meanwhile, a reverse buyer-seller meet will be organized by the Marine Products Export Development Authority (MPEDA). The event will also feature industry-related lectures, roundtable meetings, technical sessions, and discussions.
