Noida: On the seventh day of the Uttar Pradesh Kabaddi League (UPKL) Season 2, Purvanchal Panthers delivered an outstanding all-round performance to defeat Bridge Stars by 13 points (48–35) in the opening match on Wednesday.

The match at the Noida Indoor Stadium began with strong raiding from both sides, keeping the contest evenly balanced in the early stages. The turning point of the first half came when Purvanchal Panthers inflicted an all-out on Bridge Stars, which helped them gain momentum. Raider Hritik Rathi played a key role in attack, enabling Purvanchal to take a five-point lead by halftime.

In the second half, Purvanchal Panthers significantly strengthened their defense, producing their most impressive defensive performance of the season so far. An early all-out after the break further extended their lead, while Bridge Stars struggled to find defensive balance.

In the final five minutes of the match, Purvanchal Panthers’ raider Bhanu Pratap executed a crucial super raid, collecting three vital points and solidifying the team’s advantage. Soon after, Purvanchal forced another all-out, capitalizing on Bridge Stars’ defensive errors to take complete control of the game. This victory marks Purvanchal Panthers’ second win of UPKL Season 2.

In other matches of the day, Ghazab Ghaziabad faced Sangam Challengers, Kanpur Warriors took on Yamuna Yoddhas, while JD Noida Ninjas clashed with Aligarh Tigers.
