Weather News: Rain to Return in Delhi-NCR, Heavy Showers Expected for 2 Days; Forecast for UP, Punjab, Haryana
New Delhi: Weather in Delhi-NCR is set to change once again. After four days of rain last week, the region is likely to witness another spell of showers. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), multiple western disturbances are becoming active over northwest India this week.
If you think the rainy spell in March is over, you may need to reconsider. Due to two active western disturbances, northwest India is expected to experience light to heavy rainfall along with thunderstorms and gusty winds. Rain is forecast on March 26 in Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, and Chandigarh, and on March 28 in Rajasthan. Winds may blow at speeds of 30–50 km/h, accompanied by thunder and lightning.
In the Himalayan regions, including Uttarakhand, Jammu & Kashmir, and Himachal Pradesh, light to heavy rainfall is expected on March 29. On the same day, light to moderate rain is also likely across Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Chandigarh, and Punjab. A warning for lightning strikes has also been issued.
Delhi Weather Update
Cloudy conditions are expected in Delhi from March 24 onwards. The maximum temperature is likely to remain between 31°C and 33°C, while the minimum may hover between 16°C and 18°C. Due to the western disturbance, light to moderate rain is expected in several parts of Delhi on March 26, along with thunder and lightning. Cloudy skies are likely to persist on March 27–28, with another spell of light rain forecast on March 29. Strong winds and lightning are also expected.

Rainfall is also expected in eastern and northeastern regions. Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, and Meghalaya may receive heavy rain on March 24, 27, and 28. Weather changes are also likely in parts of Konkan and Kerala. Bihar is expected to see rainfall on March 26–27, while Odisha and Jharkhand may experience rain on March 27–28. West Bengal has a warning for heavy rain and hailstorms on March 24.
Overall, eastern India, including West Bengal and Sikkim, is expected to experience rainfall between March 23–27, along with strong winds ranging from 30–50 km/h.
