Kashi Kings Crowned UPKL Season 2 Champions, Defeat Lucknow Lions in Final

Noida Kashi Kings clinched the Uttar Pradesh Kabaddi League (UPKL) Season 2 title with a composed and tactically superior 38–32 victory over Lucknow Lions in the final at the Noida Indoor Stadium.

The summit clash had generated huge anticipation, with both teams emerging as the most consistent and dominant sides of the season. However, on the big stage, Kashi Kings handled the pressure far better, forcing repeated errors from a usually reliable Lucknow unit.

The nerves were evident from the start, especially in the Lucknow Lions’ defence, which struggled to find rhythm. Kashi Kings capitalised fully, exploiting defensive lapses and maintaining constant pressure. The impact was clearly reflected on the scoreboard, as Lucknow failed to register a single tackle point in the entire first half — a rare occurrence for their otherwise strong defensive line.

With controlled raiding and smart game management, Kashi Kings kept the momentum firmly on their side and successfully inflicted an all-out on Lucknow in the first half, taking a six-point lead into the break.

The second half began with the same intensity. Within the first three minutes after the restart, Kashi Kings inflicted another all-out, extending their lead to 11 points and tightening their grip on the match.

Lucknow Lions attempted a comeback through aggressive raiding and quick transitions, managing to reduce the margin and briefly revive the contest. However, Kashi Kings remained calm under pressure and denied Lucknow any sustained rhythm. A decisive super tackle in the closing moments effectively ended Lucknow’s final challenge and all but sealed the title.

Kashi Kings eventually closed the final with a 38–32 win, completing a remarkable campaign with a championship built on strategic clarity, defensive strength, and composure on the biggest stage.

Lucknow Lions finished the season as runners-up after a campaign in which they dominated large parts of the league stage.
