SBI Recruitment 2026: 257 Vacancies Announced, February 26 Is the Last Date to Apply

The State Bank of India (SBI) has launched a special recruitment drive exclusively for retired employees. The application process began on February 5, 2026, and interested candidates can apply until February 26, 2026. Notably, there will be no written examination for this recruitment.
Total Vacancies
A total of 257 posts will be filled under this recruitment drive:
- 246 posts – Financial Literacy Counsellors (FLC Counsellors)
- 11 posts – Financial Literacy Directors (FLC Directors)
The recruitment aims to strengthen the bank’s financial literacy initiatives across regions.

Age Limit
- Minimum Age: Above 60 years
- Maximum Age: 63 years
- The contract will be valid up to 65 years of age or for a maximum of three years, whichever is earlier.
Salary and Contract Period
- FLC Counsellor: Approximately ₹30,000 to ₹50,000 per month (depending on scale)
- FLC Director: Higher pay scale
The initial appointment will be for one year, which may be extended based on performance.
Selection Process
There will be no written examination. The selection will take place in three stages:
- Shortlisting of candidates
- Interview (100 marks)
- Final selection based on merit list
Eligibility Criteria
For FLC Counsellor
- Retired officers from SBI, other Public Sector Banks (PSBs), or Regional Rural Banks (RRBs) from Scale I to Scale IV are eligible.
- Retired clerical staff of SBI may also be considered if required.
- Strong understanding of the financial sector and knowledge of the local language are essential.
For FLC Director
- Only retired officers from Scale III or IV are eligible to apply.
- Candidates must have the ability to explain financial concepts clearly and be proficient in the local language.
